Our passion for landscaping began over 20 years ago in the late 90's. What started as a simple idea to plant a garden to attract a Hummingbird and some Butterflies blossomed into a desire for knowledge. What plants were needed to attract these species? Soil requirements, light requirements, nectar, host plants, watering needs etc. Each piece of information raised more questions.
After much research and graduating from the Landsape Design Program at Camden County Technical Institute there was still more research and knowledge to be had. From those years of research we highly and proudly promote the use and need of native plants. Simply put, as the use of non native plants increase, the native bird and butterfly population will decrease conversely with each new native plant added to the landscape design the native fauna will increase proportionally. Keep in mind that these plants will tolerate our soil better than non native plants eliminating harmful fertilizers, require less watering once established, provide food for wildlife and are host plants to many species of butterflies. From that simple idea of building a butterfly garden we grew to what we are today.
